The big 3-0. To be honest, I haven’t thought much about how I am officially entering a new decade. It’s just another birthday, right? To some this may be scary but I think it’s important to view it as a new chapter with new adventures!
I must say, I am a bit wiser in my old age so I thought I’d share a few (ok, 30) things that I’ve learned along the way. 😉

- Don’t take life too seriously
- Be happy- Just do it
- Stop caring what other people think
- Spend time with the people you love
- Go after what you want-in all aspects of life
- Try new things
- Move somewhere new
- Travel often
- Friends come & go.. & it’s ok
- My parents are a lot cooler than I thought
- Failure can be a good thing because it can lead to something more fulfilling
- There’s no timeline for your life
- Don’t stress over things you can’t control
- Say I love you to the people who are close to you
- True friends will celebrate your successes and support you in your failures
- Don’t be afraid to say no
- There’s a fine line between being nice & getting walked all over
- Time flies, make sure you’re making the most of it
- Don’t expect people to treat you the way you treat them – be nice & expect nothing in return
- Don’t worry so much
- Be extremely grateful for what you have
- Wear sunscreen- your face will thank you later
- Learn from your mistakes
- Ask questions
- Be a good friend
- Trust your gut & trust yourself
- Exercise, eat right & stay healthy… but always make time for pizza & cupcakes-duh
- Have fun
- Believe in yourself
As I enter this new decade, I know that it will be filled with new experiences & memories as well as new challenges & I couldn’t be more excited for all of it. I am lucky enough to be married to my best friend & starting this new decade on this crazy journey we call life, together! Here’s to being thirty, (a little less) flirty & definitely thriving!
