30 Things I’ve Learned By 30

The big 3-0. To be honest, I haven’t thought much about how I am officially entering a new decade. It’s just another birthday, right? To some this may be scary but I think it’s important to view it as a new chapter with new adventures!

I must say, I am a bit wiser in my old age so I thought I’d share a few (ok, 30) things that I’ve learned along the way. 😉

  1. Don’t take life too seriously
  2. Be happy- Just do it
  3. Stop caring what other people think
  4. Spend time with the people you love
  5. Go after what you want-in all aspects of life
  6. Try new things
  7. Move somewhere new
  8. Travel often
  9. Friends come & go.. & it’s ok
  10. My parents are a lot cooler than I thought
  11. Failure can be a good thing because it can lead to something more fulfilling
  12. There’s no timeline for your life
  13. Don’t stress over things you can’t control
  14. Say I love you to the people who are close to you
  15. True friends will celebrate your successes and support you in your failures
  16. Don’t be afraid to say no
  17. There’s a fine line between being nice & getting walked all over
  18. Time flies, make sure you’re making the most of it
  19. Don’t expect people to treat you the way you treat them – be nice & expect nothing in return
  20. Don’t worry so much
  21. Be extremely grateful for what you have
  22. Wear sunscreen- your face will thank you later
  23. Learn from your mistakes
  24. Read more
  25. Ask questions
  26. Be a good friend
  27. Trust your gut & trust yourself
  28. Exercise, eat right & stay healthy… but always make time for pizza & cupcakes-duh
  29. Have fun
  30. Believe in yourself

As I enter this new decade, I know that it will be filled with new experiences & memories as well as new challenges & I couldn’t be more excited for all of it. I am lucky enough to be married to my best friend & starting this new decade on this crazy journey we call life, together! Here’s to being thirty, (a little less) flirty & definitely thriving!
